Your wallet is your identity
Everything in MapMinter hangs off one private key: the wallet you hold, the nodes you bind to it, and the rewards those nodes earn. There is no account behind it, which is what makes a node provably yours and what makes a lost key final.
Your key is the whole account
Your private key is your identity. It is the whole of your account: the wallet, every node you bind to it, and every reward those nodes earn. There is no username and no password behind it, and there is no account we hold for you. Write down your recovery phrase, keep it offline, and never share it with anyone. If you lose it, you lose the wallet, the nodes tied to it and the rewards, and we cannot bring any of it back. Not "contact support" cannot. There is nothing on our side to recover, by design.
How a node becomes provably yours
Binding a node proves you control it, so nobody else can claim it. It works without any account and without API keys: the wallet is the identity. You connect to your MeshCore node, the app reads its public key, and the node signs a one-time challenge over the radio. That proves you are really holding the node, and not merely that you overheard its key on the air. Then your wallet signs a statement of ownership. Both signatures go to the backend, which checks them and records the binding; the chain entry follows automatically. From then on the node is provably yours, and nobody can take it over without physically holding it. The only gate to the node's signature is Bluetooth pairing, so pair the node only with your own phone and keep the PIN to yourself.
Many nodes, one key
One wallet can hold many nodes. Bind as many MeshCore nodes as you own to the same private key, and every measurement they make counts toward you. If you reset a node, you simply bind it again. There is no per-node account and no limit we impose: one identity, as many nodes as you carry.
When rewards are worked out
Rewards are worked out and shared in batches every fifteen days, not continuously. Each batch is reviewed before anything is paid, so what reaches a wallet has been looked at first. On the testnet, $MESHR has no value: this is a practice ground, and the token is worth nothing on purpose.
If something here is unclear
Ask in the community: the MapMinter group on Telegram is where questions about binding, about a batch, and about the app get answered. One thing nobody there can do is bring back a lost recovery phrase, and nobody there will ever ask you for one. Anybody who does is not us.
