Connect your MeshCore device
The app hears the mesh through your MeshCore device, so this connection comes first: without it, nothing is measured. It takes about a minute, and you only do the full version once. After that, the app finds the device again by itself.
Before you start
- Have your MeshCore device powered on and next to the phone.
- Have Bluetooth turned on. The app will ask for the Bluetooth and location permissions the first time; Android requires both for finding devices nearby, so say yes to both.
Step by step

Open the Collect tab and tap the connection card
The card sits at the top of the screen. While nothing is connected it reads Connect a MeshCore device to start collecting. Tapping it opens the device screen. The same screen is also reachable from Settings, under Device.

Tap Scan
On the MeshCore device screen, tap Scan in the top corner. If the phone asks for permissions now, allow them, then tap Scan again. While the search runs the screen says Scanning for MeshCore devices.

Pick your device and tap Connect
Found devices appear as a list: a name, the tail end of the device address, and signal strength. Tap Connect next to yours. If two devices carry the same name, the address ending is what tells them apart.

Check the green light
When the link is up, the banner at the top reads Connected to your device's name and the status dot turns green. Back on the Collect tab the card now shows the device, and recording can begin. From here on the app reconnects to this device on its own.
Connected. This is the state everything else builds on.
If it does not work
- Nothing found. The screen will say so: make sure the device is powered on and in range, then scan again. A device already connected to another phone will not show up; disconnect it there first.
- Bluetooth is turned off. Turn it on in the phone's quick settings and scan again.
- Permission was denied. Android will not let the app search without the Bluetooth and location permissions. Grant them in the phone's settings for the app, then come back.
- It refuses to connect after a firmware update. The app's own hint applies: remove the device from the system Bluetooth settings and pair again.
